São poucos os Madeirenses que conhecem o sítio de São Paulo. Muitos menos são os que conhecem as Fontes. É ai que se encontra o núcleo habitacional situado a maior altitude na ilha.
Very few are those who know São Paulo. Fewer are those who know Fontes. It is in Fontes that you will find the habitational nucleus with the highest altitude in the island.
Em tempos era muito mais difícil aceder a estas localidades, no entanto hoje em dia a construção de novas vias entre o Campanário e estes sítios remotos veio encurtar a distância e o tempo gasto nas deslocações.
Some years ago it was much harder to access these locations, however nowadays, the construction of new roads between Campanário and these remote areas has shorten the distance and time spent traveling.
Se vens da Cache Fonte dos Burros, então apenas terás de continuar pela mesma estrada até a cache!
If you come ftom the cache Fonte dos Burros, then you should just continue in the same road towards the cache!
Se vens só fazer esta cache, então é nas Fontes que poderás encontrar a estrada que irá te conduzir ao Posto Florestal da Trompica. Um pouco antes do posto florestal a estrada de cimento acaba. Deverás estacionar o teu veículo ai pois a estrada de terra é somente aconselhada a veículos TT.
If you are only doing this cache, then it is in Fontes that you will find the road that will lead you to the Trompica Forest Post. Just before this post the cement road ends. You should park your car there because the dirt road is only recommended for 4x4 vehicles.
Pelo caminho será habitual encontrar o gado a pastar calmamente pelas montanhas e até mesmo a passear pela estrada.
Along the way you will regularly find cattle grazing peacefully in the mountains and even walking along the road.
Depois de muito subir, muitas curvas e alguns cruzamentos, chegarás a uma porta que se encontra habitualmente fechada a cadeado, os veículos TT terão de ficar por cá e terminar os últimos metros a pé.
After a long climb, many intersections and some curves, you will come to a door that is normally closed with a padlock. 4x4 vehicles will have to stay here and the drivers should finish the last few meters on foot.
Sobe até ao marco geodésico, continua ao longo da vedação e em breve encontrarás a zona da cache.
Climb up to the geodesic landmark, continue along the fence and soon you will find the area of the cache.
Para poderes usufruir de todas as magníficas paisagens que esta zona te oferece deverás procurar fazer a cache em dias pouco nublados.
