This cache is located in an area known as Larano. Larano is the place in Porto da Cruz that is closer to the city of Machico.
Apesar da proximidade quilométrica, o Larano durante séculos esteve a mais de três horas da então vila de Machico. Uma vereda talhada em avermelhadas escórias vulcânicas e escuros diques basálticos, na beira de uma arriba a mais de trezentos metros acima do nível do mar, constituía o único acesso. Era através dessa vereda que as gentes do Porto da Cruz transitavam quando tinham de visitar a vila vizinha.
Despite the proximity of mileage, Larano for centuries has been more than three hours away of what was then the village of Machico. A path carved into red volcanic rocks and dark basaltic dikes on the edge of a cliff more than three hundred meters above sea level, was the only access. It was through this path that the people of Porto da Cruz walked when they had to visit the neighboring village.
Para encontrar esta cache poderás seguir o caminho mais rápido, pelo Porto da Cruz, seguindo até ao sítio do Larano até terminar a estrada. A partir dai basta seguir a vereda até a Ponta do Espigão Amarelo. Ao chegar lá, poderás ver uma verdadeira cauda de um dragão!
To find this cache you can go the easy way, starting at Porto da Cruz, going to Larano and driving till the end of the road. From there just follow the path till you get to the Ponta do Espigão Amarelo.Once there, you will see a real dragon's tail!

Se tiveres a oportunidade de fazer o percurso todo, podes continuar seguindo o trilho até a Boca do Risco. Depois facilmente chegarás ao Túnel do Caniçal.
If you have the opportunity to do the whole route, you can continue following the trail to the Boca do Risco. Then you will easily reach the Caniçal Tunnel.
