Ela passava os dias a vaguear pelas lindas montanhas que envolviam a sua casa em busca de deliciosa fruta. Certo dia de Inverno, o seu passeio foi interrompido por uma forte chuva. Com pressa para regressar a casa e com o peso da fruta colhida, a mulher tropeçou e caiu num curso de água.
Em alturas de maior caudal, diz quem por aqui passa que encontra por entre as águas a imagem de uma mulher com uma bandeja de prata com vários tipos de fruta:
anonas, bananas, castanhas, goiabas, maracujás, nêsperas, pitangas, tabaibos, pêras abacate, araçais, ...
Diz-se que quem aceitar a saborosa fruta irá libertar a mulher do seu encantamento, substituindo-a.
